5 – EXCELLENT CONDITION
Age: No more than 3 model years old.
Frame: Less than 3000 SMU's.
Component Hours: Minimum 70% life remaining.
U/C or Tires: Minimum 50% life remaining on all components.
General Appearance: Excellent; close to "like new" condition.
Performance: Operationally sound; meets all perfomance specifications and New Caterpillar Rebuilds New Dealer Complete (frame-up) rebuilds, includes powertrain reconditioning and minimum 80% remaining U/C or tire life.
4 – VERY GOOD CONDITION
Age: No more than 6 model years old
Frame / Major Strutural Components: No hours limitation; no structural problems, 2nd life rebuild feasible.
Component Hours: Minimum 50% life remaining.
U/C or Tires: Minimum 50% life remaining.
General Appearance: Very good appearance – sheet metal and paint in good condition; operator's compartment clean.
Performance: Operationally sound; meets all performance specifications.
3 – GOOD CONDITION
Age: No limit.
Frame / Major Strutural Components: No hours limitation; no significant structural problems.
Component Hours: Minimum 35% life remaining.
U/C or Tires: Minimum 25% life remaining.
General Appearance: No major hydraulic leaks; may need paint; sheet metal acceptable "as is", no visible problems and operator compartment acceptable, hinges & pin bores have normal wear.
Performance: Operates and is job ready. May need minor repairs/adjustments for peak performance.
2 – FAIR CONDITION
Age: No limit.
Frame / Major Strutural Components: May have visible cracks or repairable structural problems; high hours may limit/prohibit machine rebuild.
Component Hours: High hours but operable.
U/C or Tires: May need U/C or tires.
General Appearance: May need paint; minor sheet metal damage; some hydraulic leaks. Hinges and pin bores may need repair.
Performance: Operational but may need significant work prior to delivery.
1 – POOR CONDITION
Machine may start, but is not fully operational. General appearance would suggest unit is unusable and therefore, not worth repairing to condition code 2 status. Typically sold as a "parts" machine.
